I think there may be a key piece of information missing here.... is this a Galaxy S3 PREPAID device?
If it is then yes, it is a 3G device not a 4G as most people (like I did until i researched it) believe.

Ok perfect sorry for the confusion so it is a newer 3G prepaid version, are you activating it on post pay or prepay? (I used to own the older post pay 4G version)

Prepay and the same device used to work fine - now I cannot activate it.

Can you try bypassing the activation screen option and then try manually activating it using the steps below? (I am wondering if the software is not dialing the correct activation number and failing due to that)
For the Samsung Galaxy S3 press this key combination:
Bottom left corner
Bottom right corner
Bottom left corner
Bottom right corner
Volume up
This should bypass that screen and allow you to attempt to call *228 to activate.

That is precisely what I have spent the 4 hours talking to various Verizon
customer service agents about - and no one can tell me how to bypass the
initial screen and do the setup manually. The only thing they do is to
blame Samsung...

Sorry hit send too soon - so I spent another 2 hours talking to Samsung and
have now sent the phone back to them. This is so traumatic.

By the way, just curious, should a Verizon rep not be looking at the complaints and addressing them? I don't see a single message from any Verizon rep in this thread - am I missing something?
