Bogus Suspension Notice?

Newbie

Received a suspicious "Verizon Suspension notice from (517) 388-2786 asking me to update my account registration details to avoid service cancellation.  They provided a link (I didn't click on it!) to http://cor.to/Verizon631037.

When I checked my Verizon account online everything is up to date.  Should I report this to Verizon?  Do they follow up on fraudsters using their name?

That is definitely a phishing attempt, do not respond.

From Verizon FAQ:

Where can I forward a suspicious text message?

If you receive a text message that appears suspicious or you think could be spam, you can forward it to 7726 (Verizon Corporate Security) from your device and then delete it. You shouldn’t open any links in the message. These messages are logged and tracked to help identify suspected spammers.
