Being charged for data when at home connected to wifi

This past month I've realized that I have been getting charged from Verizon for data when I am at home connected to my wifi. I have an iPhone 5S and I realized this is happening because I set up a data usage notification via text message and I received a notification last night while connected to my wifi. I have done a little digging and on my data usage report it say that I am using data during the times I am home. I have a very reliable wifi signal with Comcast so this shouldnt be happening.

All I can think of is that Verizon is committing fraud.

Wifi assist off? Have you looked at the data usage settings in the phone to verify the applications use wifi instead of cellular data?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Comcast isn't as good as you think (I speak only from personal experience). It is more than likely the wifi assist like ann said. Make sure that nothing is running in the back ground of your device.
