It most likely is. A premium text message is any message you send to/receive from a short 4-5 digit shortcode. However, not all their revenue models are the same. Premium texts from social networking websites like MySpace, Facebook and Twitter are all free services and will only deduct from any text allowance you have unless you have unlimited.
So there won't be a $9.99/month charge for MySpace texts. Of course you can always check their T&Cs to confirm.
