I have installed Message on my Macbook with El Capitan and linked it to my number by entering the 6 digit pin sent via text. Then the app just sits there, empty. No messages. Contacts are there, but NO messages. Why doesn't it work?

Hi, a quick update. I figured out the solution to my problem. My mac antivirus software by Avast include 3 "shields": file system, mail, and web. After looking through my console logs, it appears that Message+ requires an IMAP connection to retrieve all of it's data and the "mail shield" was blocking this. There was no pop up or alert, basically Message+ just sat there forever, empty and silent.
So...problem solved by disabling the mail shield.
Hopefully this helps someone else with similar problem.

I’m glad you’ve decided to give Verizon Messages a try, chicagomsg. If you log into the web app instead of the desktop app through www.vzw.com/verizonmessages, do you see the text message history there? What model phone do you use Verizon Messages with? How long ago did you begin using Verizon Messages on your phone? We’ll solve this mystery.

Yes, the web app works fine and shows all my messages. I have a Samsung
Galaxy S6. I have been using Verizon Messages since I got the S6, about 8
months.
There was a time, several months ago, when the app on my mac worked pretty
ok with only occasional lags requiring restarts or forced refreshes. But
now, nothing displays at all. I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it,
disconnected it and reconnected it from my phone number. Nothing has worked.

chicagomsg,
Thank you so much for the extra clues to this message mystery. Its’ good to hear that you are able to see the web app works as it should. Since it once did work on the Macbook, has anything changed on the computer since? Have you installed any new software from Apple?

No, it would periodically seem to lose connection to Verizon message
"server" and not show any of my messages, but usually would work with a
forced refresh/sync. Then it just went blank and stopped worked. Can you
tell me which files to remove to ensure I get a clean install? Can you
provide any specific troubleshooting steps? I have since upgraded to Mac
OSX El Capitan. Do you have any known issues with this OS?

Yeah it's disabled. Still message+ not working. Is there a number I can
call or a chat feature to receive support a little faster? This is a slow
way to receive support.
