I received a white box with a red X at the end of my text message. It was not a picture message and I cannot forward to the person who sent it to me to see it. Does anyone knwo what this is??

That's a picture or image that A. didn't transmit correctly in the message or B. your phone didn't process correctly for it to be displayed.
I know you said it wasn't a picture message, but keep in mind text messages can also contain emoticons and other symbols.
