Background information: The Blackberry Pearl I currently own was previously my mother's. She gave it to me because her 2 yrs contract ended and she got herself a new phone (Motorola Devour), while she gave me her Blackberry because my old cell (Motorola Krave) stopped working.
My problem is on and off. Sometimes the cell works perfectly, other days it doesn't.
Also, I don't think because the phone is a little over 2yrs old deals with any of my issues.
The texts I send and receive delete on its own - they don't all delete at the same time, but they still disappear nonetheless. This is problematic because I would receive a text and it would delete itself before I am able to read it. This started happening the day my mother turned on her Devour when she received it in the mail. Keep in mind though, she didn't activate it, she only turned it on.
Eventually, after all my texts from previous days and the current day get deleted, I stop receiving text messages altogether, even though I have adequate amount of bars and my cell is properly activated.
I have checked out the support, help, and FAQs, but none of them have helped me.
Please help me. I'll appreciate it very much. Any small or big advise/suggestion will help tremendously.

Which Blackberry device do you have? Do you have auto erase turned on?
