Text messaging SUDDENLY stopped working

I have a LG Voyager and in the middle of the day text messaging quit on me.

I have tried the following solutions, and NONE have worked so far:

- turn the phone OFF and remove the battery, let sit for a few minutes, reinsert the battery, turn phone ON

-go into settings, checked restrictions on messageing, ALLOW ALL for receive and send

-erase entire inbox, sent box, and drafts

-dialed *228, option 2, successful update and restart

I have had someone sitting directly across from me send a text message. Their phone said the text was successfully sent, although I received nothing. I have attempted to send messages and I receive the followind message:

"Send failed. Would you like to retry?"

and if I choose NO:

"MESSAGE NOT DELIVERED : SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE"

Even when I have FULL EV1X signal strength!!!
