Text messages from Alltel customers and vice versa

I know it doesn't take minutes from our allolwance or the Alltel customers alowance when calling each other but how about text messages? Do they cost or are they unlimited as well? Thanks

If you have a text plan that is $10 or more, they are mobile to mobile messages (read free), the $5 text will deduct from your 250 allotted messages. If you already have Unlimited text, then this was a pointless post.... Text away!!!

Alltel customers will only fit into the mobile-to-mobile criteria if they're NOT in a divested area. When in doubt, go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/ and click on Mobile To Mobile on the main page. You'll be able to input your friends' numbers to see if they're mobile-to-mobile. Not all Alltel customers are making the transition, so it's very important to check.

I did what you said to do about typing in the number since its alltel and it says its the mobile to mobile thing. But when i text the alltel number it counts in my 500 non verizon texts. Whats up with this?

Make sure the number is in network.
