My phone number is of an east coast time zone. However, I now live in the midwest, and am an hour behind. However, when I receive text messages it shows the east coast time. My phone is correctly set to Central Time, but for some reason my text come in as East Coast time. Can be rather confusing. Any suggestions for a fix? Call Verizon I suppose?

A couple things I would think of. First is your number now a midwest number. Second have you *228 option 1 lately. I do not know if the phone number would have anything to do with that but that would be a half educated guess there. The second option is always a way to try to fix most glicthes.

My phone number is not a different number. It is the same as when I lived on the east coast.
When you say *228- do I just upgrade my roaming capabilities? Or should I update something else? Was it reprogramming my phone that I need to do?

I'm having the exact same problem in reverse. I'm from the Central time zone but I'm currently living in the Eastern time zone. I noticed this problem started happening sometime over the summer, as earlier in the year I had no problems with this.

I'm also having this problem, but in reverse [from Central, moved to Eastern] and went into the Verizon store and nothing was remedied.

I am having this same problem at Purdue. I am in EST and still in EST...but all my times on messages are 1 hour early, even though I receive them at the right time. this is very confusing.

Have you changed the "Phone Usage Address" in your My Verizon > Profile > Phone Usage Address? I am not sure that this will solve your problem, but when you click on "Phone Usage Address," you will see the following message:
"Your Service and roaming charges are taxed based on your place of primary use (PPU). Generally, we will use the residential or business address you provide when signing up for wireless service as your PPU. You can change your place of primary use to a different address by selecting the "Edit" link below."
It seems likely, at least, that changing that setting would change time stamp on messages.
Let us know if that works.
