T9 predictive dictionary

I just got the vx8360 and I am having some problems with texting. On my old phone when I was texting in T9 a list of words would come up if there were more than one word that could be spelled with the key combination. like when typing "me" the  gave the option of using the word "of". How can I change it to the word I want if it predicts the wrong word. I don't know if this makes sense but it is really annoying me.

I believe its the zero key. I have had several LG phones and that's what it is. it says ' next ' on it too.
