Reading TXT Messages Online

The article states that it is possible to read TXT content on MyVerizon.
On this forum I have constantly heard that it is NOT possible.

However, this article and the fact that my parents found out information and punished me for said information makes me wonder. This information was shared only between me and my friend. Im 100% positive that there was no way for them to discover this information anyway else.

I'm not a bad kid and i'm not doing anything bad, i'm simply discussing private matters with a friend who needed help.

Thanks for the help

Not possible still. See this post that was posted by an admin on here-->Text online

Look where it says also see "read your kids text online?"  You can even call customer care and they'll tell you the same thing.

About your ebhow article, anyone can post information on ehow. The information can come from any person really. I can even post an article on ehow if I go to "write". I can post on how to do something but it can be innaccurrate. Don't believe everything you hear or read.

This was taken from wikipedia:  "Ehow....Through a proprietary social networking platform and user-generated content tools, eHow maintains an online community of users who publish how-tos, images and video clips and receive a percentage of profits earned from traffic and advertising. eHow members can network and collaborate by building a personalized profile, creating friend lists, commenting on articles and interacting in an online forum."

Yes, the article does state that it is possible, and theoretically, it is, with the proper equipment, technique, and skills.  However, the reference article given makes it clear that the average, and even above average tech saavy cell phone user does not have the resources to do this.

Quoting from the article (my comments in green)

"Depending on where you live, there are different services available (note:  third party services NOT connected with Verizon and likely charge a fee) that will let you forward or intercept text messages bound for your cell phone, redirecting them to an e-mail address or a Web server.

In researching this topic, we came across a forum discussion at XtremeVBTalk.com. The thread goes through rather in-depth instructions on how to get a PC to read an incoming SMS message, uploading it to a Web server. This is perhaps one of the most technical solutions and probably is not achievable for the average mobile phone user.

Alternatively, you can look into a solution like SMS Backup from Yahoo! India. To our knowledge, this service is not available outside of India at this time, but Yahoo! could be looking to expand to other countries."

And BTW, simply logging on to MyVerizon, navigating to the messaging details as instructed - "Click on the option in the new screen marked "Check text status." You can now look at all your messages sent online over the last 5 days."  - there is no new, or old, "Check text status"  that I can find...and no where to see all the messages sent, except for the date, time, and numbers involved. That's it.

Just a PS to the previous - I did find this, which seems to be what the article was talking about, but it applies to using VTEXT to send messages through your computer, and those are the only messages you can access, and only those YOU have sent - not your kids (unless you have their login) and nothing that was done phone to phone....interesting.....

That article states about reading text messages sent online.  If you follow the steps in the article you cannot see any texts sent from phone to phone.    You can track anything that is sent from online if you have the know how and even the programs to do so.    Mary

If you notice also the guy that wrote the article doesn't even work for Verizon or any cell phone company....Mitchell White has been writing most of his adult life and has been writing articles about fighting spyware, malware, and other computer hardships for sites like eHow.com since 2009. White has a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a specialty in writing, from Messiah College.

Wonder if he even has verizon for service.   The fact that he states it's possible to read text messages sent online is the truth though.  Mary

The only thing i can think that they mean when saying you can check your messages online, is the messages you send via the online service. You can send text messages from your verizon online account, but I haven't seen were you can read messages that came from your mobile device. My boyfriend is the owner of my verizon Phone and he has way more access than I do. I swear he is reading my text messages, because he always acts differently right after I've been texting with one of my male friends. Very Strange.

Maybe you have some type of cell phone spyware on your phone. Got to be careful with that!

Well either he installed some kind of spyware or if he has access to your phone he is just reading those text messages if you saved them.     I would not let someone take controll of my phone like that, they have no business seeing what's on our phone weather you are doing anything wrong or not but I hear this so many times from women that have controlling boyfriends and husbands and I would not stand for it.  Mary
