I feel for you BrigC. My husband and I have just moved to smartphones for the first time and neither of us can text on our phones either. Just got the phones yesterday and updated them right after activation and still no texting. Everything else works but not texting and that is the most important feature for us. Let me know if the store was able to help you.
Yes we did have text blocking and that was supposed to be removed. I am

Good luck getting your texting problem resolved. I believe I got lucky. I
have had good experiences with the online chat. You may want to try that
before going into the store. The stores in my area were not very helpful.
Ok so I took my phone to the store. They ordered me a new one. New phone arrived, set it all up and STILL NO TEXTING! I did a software update and everything like I did before. My work requires me to have texting and my superiors are not happy with me. PLEASE help me fix this. I have never had such difficulties with Verizon before.
