Click the link that Joe provided above and find the settings for notifications. You can individually change the notifications for all apps in one location.
Once into the Google settings that Joe mentioned scroll down to the message plus app and you can individually change the notification for Messaging Plus
That only sets the default notification for the app and is not what people are asking about. In the previous versions of Verizon Messages you could click a person / conversation and permanently set a custom notification for that person. This option no longer exists in the 6.5.0 version of the app that released on 12/22
I spoke to a rep this evening. He indicated that not all phones have been affected. Pixel 2 is one of those affected by the update not showing all the options in the application correctly.
I was originally asking for the notification sound for incoming messages. It was answered.
This clears it up. Thanks for the info Nuro! Hopefully Verizon can keep up on the updates.
