Message= 6.4.35

For about two weeks now, when I power up my phone and go to Message+ the app starts as if its a new install and asks whether or not I want a public profile, etc. Then I have to wait while it "initializes".

Also, the desktop app now very rarely syncs with the phone.

Know issue? Any fix?

My Message+ started doing something unusual. I restart my Pixel phone every evening. In the morning, or any other time that I've restarted my phone, I must RESTART my Message+. The first prompt is 'Start Messaging,' followed up by 'PLEASE WAIT STARTING SERVICE,' and then perhaps most irritating, I must opt to NOT have a public profile. I contacted tech support at Verizon about a week ago. The rep (via chat) told me that due to allowing the update I'd recently done, Message+ would initially ask me to 'Start Messaging.' Well, I have to do this every time, and I am certainly not updating Message+ everyday; it is the Restarting of my phone that is making this happen, or so I believe. Anyone else have this problem, and perhaps know a fix?

Only things I could think of would be the usual check for updates for the phone and the app, and then clearing all data for the app in Application Manager. It will definitely run you through setup for the app again afterwards, but if it setup anything wrong previously. Otherwise, it might just be more convenient to switch to another messaging app until the next update is released.

Ive been having this same issue. looks like its not retaining settings or preferences. most definitely and issue in the app. No answer on issue yet though from what i gathered.

I rely on my messages daily so I know how important it is to ensure it's working at all times. Was there any recent changes made to your phone when thsi started?  Have you verified if the app is up to date? If so, can you try resetting the app?

I have been having this exact same issue every single day since I updated my new Google Pixel XL phone.

Has anyone found a fix for this? It's unbelievably bothersome and I can't believe an expensive phone like this would operate so lame like it has been.

I am having this issue, as well -- and Oreo upgrade did not fix it.  Verizon Customer Support -- please address this issue as it appears to be very common!
