I know you can go to your voice mail and enter in your password. Then select the option "send a message". You can send a voice mail to another verizon customer. Their phone won't ring at all. The voice mail will just appear on their phone.
if their not a verizon customer then you could use the Spoof feature. Although using this feature you'll still have to call the person, but you can make another phone nubmber appear on their caller ID.

If you AND they have Verizon cell phones, you can do it within your VM. The keystrokes to do this are different based on location though. But go into yourVM and listen thoroughly to all the options

I'm not sure. I have used it several times. On rare occasions the cell phone will ring very briefly before going to voice mail, but there will not be a calling number displayed.
Perhaps it behaves differently based on the type of phone or the type of cell service.

Hey everyone., I tried it just now. At least where I am, when you go into VM, Option two allows one to leave a message. You record it, and hit #. You are then prompted for a phone number. If not a number that the message can be sent to (non Verizon), I am notified.
I think this only works if I am calling the service area of where I am. I do not think I can leave a message to a Verizon customer in CA and have this work. But honestly, I have no idea if that works or not.
