The message+ 8.0 is the issue. This workaround is NOT a fix for S8+ devices, as we don't have the option to use the app without updating it. My spouse has this version of messaging, but I have 6.7.7 and I have ZERO issues.
Has anyone else found another workaround? We've tried everything else.

I did not have the option to uninstall updates either. But I went ahead and did the uninstall and reinstall anyway. The app is working again after doing that. Makes no sense to me.
