Env 2 Not receiving Text Messages

Hey my names matt and my env 2 is not receiving text's. I have had 3 env 2's... the first one was stolen but had no problems. The 2nd one started showing problems about 3-4 months after i got it. It went on for another 7 months before i decided to use my wrranty to get a new env 2 to see if the problem was fixed, however it wasnt. I called customer service and they had me take out the battery and re-install the phone and i have the same problem.. my dad has a blackberry curve and does not have any problem..

 

It is not just to one specific network it is to every network. I will send a text message and they will recieve it 100% of the time but only 50% of the time i will receive the text response. I have no idea why it is doing this. I have 3-4 bars for the 1x which I know is texting and such. It is everywhere around town not just one specific place, hope this helps. thxs in advance!!

You can try dialing *228 option 1 to reprogram the phone (or is that what you meant by re-install the phone?).

Are you sure your friends have your correct phone number? Are they using all 10 digits?

You can call customer service and make sure that texting is set up properly on the phone and that there are no blocks.

its all the envy phones i have the envy touch and have the same issues with it and *228 does not help and neither will verizon on this matter ive been dealing with this for over a year now with no resalution on it thats why im leaving and going to sprint cause i was told today by verizon they dont know what to tell me but it is within there tolerances and basiclly id have to deal with it what happen to customer satisfaction  i found out today verizon does not care about there customers was told yesterday they would give me a credit on my bill for the inconvenience but then got told today there not going to give it to me verizon got to big of a company and just dont care anymore there a joke leave them as soon as u can

Have you tried to do a PRL (preferred roaming list) on the phone?  This will put you back in sync with the towers. I have provided the steps on how to perform the update below.  


 

Power on the phone within the Verizon Wireless coverage area.
Dial *228 then press SEND (this call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
When prompted, press 2 for the option to update the PRL.
Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to informing that the phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
Press End to terminate the call.
Power cycle the phone to complete the update.

We have two ENV 2's and and an ENV3 on our account and have no texting problems what so ever sending or receiving to any network so it's not all the ENV phones.  Mary
