I've been trying to text my friend in the UK repeatedly for a couple weeks, to no avail. He can send me text messages without a problem, but everytime I send an SMS message it reads as having been sent, but he never receives them. I've already done the activation thing, and I know I have the correct format in my address book (011 44 and then the 10 digit number) for the partner network (Orange). Does anyone know what the problem could be, or how to fix this? I have a lot of contacts in the UK and not being able to text over there almost defeats the purpose of having a mobile over here.

Do you have the International Texting coverage Plan?
1. Find the country code and participating carrier for the non-U.S. mobile number you want to send the text message.
2. Send the text to the number as if you were making an international call.
3. If you run into problems, confirm that the recipient is using a participating carrier.
To send International Text Messages to destinations outside of the US that use 10-digit dialing, simply enter the 10-digit phone number of the message recipient as you would when sending a domestic text message. To send a text message to a destination outside of the US that does not use 10-digit dialing, you must start with 011. Next, you must use the country code, and then the number you wish to reach.
