Actually more than quadrupling. From the twelve hundred or so photos in my iPhoto on my computer, Cloud has 37,600 photos saved. And NOT ONE contact from the hundreds that were on my lost smartphone. Great service here! How do I turn on the saving of contacts information?
While you may use an iPhone, you can still use Google if you have a Google email and that will be one way to backup photos and contacts automatically. Using Verizon Cloud is not advised given its many bugs and hokey interface. If you are speaking of iCloud, that's a whole other issue.
