Your time and efforts are appreciated BILLVE. It sounds like those pictures have already been deleted from the Cloud server if you're in receipt of that message but it's still cached in the app properties on your phone. Accordingly, let's clear those cache properties for your app to see if we can consolidate what your phone is showing to what our servers are saying. To do this, please go into Apps>Settings>Applications>Application Manager>Cloud>Storage and choose Clear Cache. Next, hit your back button once and choose Force Stop. Once completed, go to your Home Screen and reopen the Cloud application and let us know if those already deleted photos are still appearing in the Cloud application.

Is it possible that your pictures have been deleted but still remain in TRASH and are taking up the 5GB space? If you go into your Cloud Settings you can see the TRASH: https://cloud.verizonwireless.com/vzCloud/home/cloudOverview.action#settings/storage
