I'm New both as a,customer with verizon and as a community member. What is the best way to interact with members of the community so I can get more followers as well as follow more members?
This isn't Facebook. You don't need to follow other community members to interact with them. Ask questions about your devices. Answer questions about other members' situations.

get involved in an actual community of whatever technology you're looking to "network" with. verizon's forums, probably not going to find a great deal of networking. look at linkdin , that app is only about networking.
