I have three email accounts on my phone...none of them are operating correctly.  The phone does not get emails, even when I refresh the accounts manually...

In addition my emails disappear from my phone (this has happened three times)....

What is going on?  Is this a fascinate software issue or is it my phone?

My phone continues to drop emails that I have not deleted. This is a recurring problem. I went to a local dealer and they contact support the end result was to send a new phone. I received the new and it was OK for a time and the same thing now happens on this phone. I went to the same store last week and they reset settings yet it continues. I have tried all the remedies you have suggested and the problem persists.

What I recommend is changing your message settings.  Press the "Messages" icon, then click the "Menu" button. Press "Options" then "General Options." Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the drop-down list next to "Keep Messages." Set how long to keep the messages and then click "Menu" and press "Save."

Email app

In the email program, the only way I know to keep specific emails available at all times is to create a separate folder to put some important emails into.  I believe that the email app caps the amount of messages that he calls up at one time (because this refreshes your inbox each time it refreshes), and there doesn't seem to be a way (that I've found) to change that since recalling thousands of messages at one time could take a long time to do.  But these messages are still available through your phone.  You just have to keep pressing Load more messages when you scroll to the bottom.  This can be a long process if you have emails that you're looking for from months ago.

Gmail app

Gmail, however, doesn't use a polling procedure to check for new mail.  Gmail uses a pushing procedure where emails are pushed into your account "instantly" (that's in quotes because it's as close to instant as you'll likely get).  In Gmail, it is possible to view your messages from a while back.  I don't know if it caps it at 400 messages (which is all I can see), but anything older that you need to view on your phone can also be put into a separate folder for easy access.  To make it so your phone allows you to view the maximum number of Gmail messages, press the Menu button, then Settings, then Labels, press the folder whose Sync length you want to change (in this case, the Inbox), and press Sync all.
