I would say for everyone quite griping about it because odds are you won;t get the update, its going to end up like the Eris or the other droids phones that where placed on the back burner for what ever reason.
I disagree. The Fascinate will get the official FROYO eventually. And as far as older devices not getting it the LG Ally recently got FROYO . So there you go...................

That doesn't change the fact that A) 2.2 is a LOT more than just "flash", and B) because of Samsung's horrible software development practices and horrible software support, those of us with braces on our phones are still unable to do what our HTC/Motorola companions can do (the custom 2.2's still aren't very stable, I have to reapply mine at least once a month because it stops working... and there's still no stable cyanogenmod6, let alone CM7). Furthermore, the LG Ally, an entry-level phone, came out before the Fascinate (in late May) and STILL got Froyo before Samsung could bother updating us!
Really though, my beef with Samsung isn't even Froyo, as annoyed as I am over that, it's how they integrate Touchwiz into EVERY core function of the phone, so even the development community struggles to make fully functional AOSP ROMs.
So, I reiterate, **BLEEP** Samsung.

Funny thing is they're about to push out another non-2.2 handset. Granted it's low end but still pathetic.

I was really happy with my Fascinate until 2 updates poped up! My device was flawless, no hang ups, no freezing, no black screen, no usb issue. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!!
Since it got the first update then to EA28 it started to get all major hang ups and bugs that it could get... This updates ruined my device -_- I demand an explanation!!!!

DL30 was ok but wasn't a full build and had random glitches here and there. EB01 is much more stable and Superclean 2.6 is mindblowingly fast if you have no need for touchwiz. Only real issue is that if you have GPS enabled it never really allows your phone to sleep so your battery drops faster than usual.

yeah, I keep my GPS off as a habit. one more advantage of getting froyo the way some have is you can get cpu scaling software. this doesn't overclock it, rather it acts like the intel core 2 processors in thast it will underclock it for better battery life. it even has an "on demand" feature like the intel processors.
I also need a new (again) windows computer to be able to get eb01. mine died.
