How do I receive the 'security code' for Messages+?

I have a Galaxy Tab E (T377V) and I never get the security code text to enable Messages+. How to I received SMS text messages?

Verizon Messages (Message+) is a texting app that lets you sync your texting conversations across all your compatible devices. I use it myself and find it very helpful. I completely understand how important it is to be able to sync the messages to your tablet, and I'm happy to assist you. Please allow me to explain that tablets can scan the QR code from the application, instead of using SMS messages. The link I provided below shows you all the steps.
