s7 edge black screen

My galaxy s7 edge screen went black for no apparent reason. The phone has not been dropped. As a matter of fact, this is my 2nd Galaxy s7 edge because my first one also has screen problems. I have tried everything with this phone and nothing seems to work. For example, I held down the volume down button and the power on button at the same time and nothing happened.

I do receive calls on the phone but I can't see the screen to answer it.

Anyone else have this problem?

first try this......

o wipe the cache partition, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:When the phone powers on and displays 'Power', release all keys and the Android icon should appear.
    • Volume Up key
    • Home key
    • Power key.
  3. When the phone powers on and displays 'Power', release all keys and the Android icon should appear.
  4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears approx. 30 seconds later.
  5. Press the Volume down key to highlight 'wipe cache partition.'
  6. Press the Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight 'yes' an press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, 'Reboot system now' is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

then a CLEANER WIPE DATA RESET IF YOU DARE ON SAME MENU AS ABOVE. IF ABOVE DONT WORK FIRST. ONLY IF YOU WANT A CLEANER RESET;AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE ABOVE...NO DATA LOST ABOVE STEPS.

Yes, I have the same question.  After all the help that Verizon Tech Help and the new app Tech Coach has tried only made my phone worse.  The phone gets very hot when in use.  It started with the black screen.  I can use the phone on my blue tooth but cannot access my screen.  Cannot turn it off, cannot answer calls.

Not at all helpful!  Problem still exists.  I'm distraught that the help only made my phone worse.  I took into a store and a salesperson immediately tried to sell me a new phone.  She tried to tell me that my case was from a 3rd party when it is clearly shown on the receipt that I purchased it from the Verizon store.  I am highly suspicious.
