Why won't my device send or receive photos?

Photos are coming in texts as a download and they won't download. I switched from an iphone and my phone number is not registered with imessage so I'm not sure why this is happening. Very frustrating!

Receiving photos are very important. We want to make sure your device is set to receive picture messages. Please go to Settings/Messages/MMS Messaging and make sure this is turned on.
