I have a 15 month old S5 with no damage at all. One day it was working absolutely fine, then a half hour later nothing. The phone was off. It will not go on; it will not charge, vibrate, no lights - NOTHING AT ALL. I have called Samsung 5 times. I have done everything they have said; even went out to have the battery checked to see if it was that (also their recommendation) and nothing works at all. I am completely frustrated. Does anyone know why this is happening or how it can be fixed?

I think I have tried everything. I have called Samsung 4 times and have done EVERYTHING that have told me to do. I have checked out the link you sent as well. The small dot on the top right corner under the battery appears to be a copper like color. Does that indicate something. Samsung also had me check the colors of the square in the lower left corner under the battery and the small rectangle on the battery itself. They are have a white background with what appears to be pinkish/purplish Xs. They said that means it has not encountered any water damage. I look forward to hearing from you with regards to the small circle/dot you asked about.
I am happy to say that Samsung has agreed to look at my phone and fix it. : )

I'd see if there is a Best Buy Samsung Experience Store near you. If the Samsung rep there can't do anything then your only choice would be to see if Samsung can repair it or buy another device.
I'm guessing they will try to see if another battery will work.

I can certainly see why you are frustrated. I would be too in this situation. Have you tried using a different charger for the device? You can also look up some great Troubleshooting steps here: http://spr.ly/658983XpL. Under the battery is a small dot in the corner. Can you tell me what color it is?

Hello and Thank You for your efforts. I did contact Best Buy prior to posting because it was recommended by Samsung. Unfortunately, they could not/did not really help either. I was told they did not have a battery to test out in my phone to see if it was a battery problem and my only option was to have it sent out for service. However, I was not ready to pay for service when I felt Samsung should be responsible for this. I completely understand it is not under warranty but I also do not believe that a phone of 15 months without any damage at all should completely stop working. So yes, according to your suggestion, I am having Samsung look at the product to see what the problem could be. Thank you again for your assistance and suggestions.

Well, I thought Samsung was going to help me out but instead they sent my phone back saying they are not going to repair it. They are not repairing any out of warranty products at this time. This is probably due to all their law suits and issues with washing machines and the Galaxy 7. I am SO disappointed. I feel like I am getting the fun around. I specially received a phone call from a Samsung rep telling me to send the phone back, providing the UPS label and stated on the voice message that it will be serviced for free. Instead, it go repackaged and sent right back to me with a note. I literally mailed it out on the 27th of December and received it on Jan. 5th. They did not even offer any other alternatives such as a discounted fee for repair - nothing at all, except we understand your frustration. So upset and disappointed in Samsung right now.
