Why does Verizon put so much bloatware on phones?

I got a new S8 and as soon as I activate my service I get all of these garbage apps auto installed in which it instantly notifies me of adware from the apps installed thru DT ignite or Mobile services manager.  I hard reset with out a sim card and the phone works great with no junk on it but as soon as I activate the deivce , slotomania, final fantasy and other junk installs automatically and each app is almost 150MB .  It seeems verizon is the cause of adware and malware.  I am now on my second S8 and same problems keep happening.  Also, can't use data while on the phone just shows 1x, I have gotten new sim cards and Verizon does not want to help me figure out whats going on.

You can disable DT Ignite.

Jrh4054, thank you for providing that information. Atmistry, yes apps are preinstalled such as Verizon related Apps, Google related apps, as well as Amazon related apps. Games such as Final Fantasy or Slotmania are not preinstalled. These are usually restored from a backup. Before resetting your device ensure that you have restore from backup disabled. Go to Settings> Backup and Reset> Automatic Restore.

That is a lie directly from customer support. DT ignite installs games like final fantasy and soda crush. Hiring useless people to answer questions on their forum should be illegal. I mean seriously? have you ever seen these 'techs' actually answer someones questions? You're better off going to forums with people that know what they are doing and don't have it in their best interest to lie to the consumer. Try xda forums if you're a little tech savvy.

To prove my point: look at this link, just read the question of the post and read the answer from Shadow23x

I remember back when I got the Note7 that I got a lot of bloatware on my phone after an update for the phone. Someone came on here and told us about DT Ignite and that we could disable it. Since then I always disable this app.I did not know about mobile service manager. Thanks for the heads up

Just finished setting up my certified refurb S7 from Verizon.  Configuring my apps and noticed that 7 apps installed and most of which wouldn't be part of Verizon's preinstalled apps.  Looked in the app manager and saw it was installed by "Mobile Service Manager". Started researching and found out about all this conspiratorial stuff.  Have disabled it and hope that keeps any more from installing. I'm seriously considering returning it and buying something that doesn't come with all this crap (pixel, something unlocked from the manufacturer).  Never had any trouble with my Moto G4 Plus.

Dan_cjsa, we want you to be happy with your new phone. I can understand that you want to limit the content that is on your phone. Are you having any problems with your phone? Is there anything that we can help with?
