When will I get the Marshmallow update 6.0.1 on my s5

Why haven't I received the 6.0.1 update for my Samsung Galaxy s5 Verizon and the update has been released from yesterday?This is utter rubbish because the other u.s carriers have made the update readily available for its customers.Verizon needs to do something about this.

Updates are rolled out in waves, so it could take a few days before it's available for your phone.

You can update your device now buy pulling down the software update.

Settings > System updates > Check for new system update

Let us know how it goes. It is great, in my opinion, that this older device is getting one of the latest Android updates!

Check in your settings for system upgrades.  I checked yesterday morning and it was available so I downloaded.  It was not an automatic notification on my Galaxy S5.  My last name starts with an H and I reside in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.  I am not sure if that fits any distribution pattern.

It is more based on the IMEI number of the phone then location. It would have eventually gave a notification that the update was available. You pulled it down before the notification happened.

no, you actually have to select that in the play store/my apps/settings  for notifications & auto download.

System Updates aren't controlled by the Play Store updates notification and download settings. I have my Play Store settings set to off and I will get a notification of a new system update.
