Ugh, this again? T-Mobile just released the update a week ago and it's the end of the world because Verizon hasn't yet? They may not be the fastest, but one thing I can tell you is that they most certainly are not sitting on it. The S8 isn't even officially a thing yet. If Verizon were sitting on updates to sell other devices, Samsung would stop doing business with them. Verizon doesn't make money selling devices, they make money selling the service that those devices use. So why in the world would they risk losing customers by purposely holding back updates?

Samsung would absolutely not drop one of the biggest providers in the world because they delay updates. The S8 is definitely a thing.

My point was, the S8 has not even been announced, much less being on sale. People have brought up in this thread (and countless threads for the last 10 years) that they think Verizon is holding back updates to sell new devices. But what current device would a current Galaxy S7 owner move too? Samsung owners are just as bad as iPhone owners, they feel like the manufacturer can do no wrong.

Not sure what that has to do with anything. All it takes is an official statement about when a particular update is to be released or why it's not for Verizon. Worse still, they have not released any security updates that are regularly released for months. Do we need CDMA / fcc certification for security updates now, too?

And yet, it's not even March yet so that sale date and all details about the S8 are not official and still rumors.

The thing is, overall, Verizon isn't losing customers.
