Very displeased

I bought my Samsung Galaxy S4 & upgraded the contract for 2 more years three weeks ago to the day & yesterday I took it out of my pocket & the whole LCD screen was cracked. I mind you that yes, I had a screen protector & a defender case. The phone is not functional at all. I am upset at the fact that they want to charge me another $100 for insurance when I spent around $300 with them less than a month ago on a brand new phone & upgrading fees. I see this as a manufacturer error rather than operator error considering I've done nothing for the phone to be damaged. I haven't even dropped the phone. I have never made an insurance claim until now. If I would have known that Verizon doesn't stand behind the products they sell 100% I would have never purchased the phone or upgraded the contract. I'm very displeased with the service I was provided & will not be upgrading my next contract. Verizon should learn to value their customers.

So your body "just" broke the screen resulting  in physical damage or it just ..?

Very interesting.

Even dropping your phone one time can crack your screen, my bro broke his phone screen just by holding it to hard in his hulkish hands. That does not mean is it is a defect, just get your phone repaired, and yes repairs can cost $100 some times

If you had your Phone in Tight Jean's pocket you could of Twisted the just enough to Impact the Screen the Best thing to put any phone in is Like the Leather Holsters that Verizon Sells there Capacity is a Little bigger than that of certain Phones and it give them some free Room front and Back so there is no pressure on the Phone) I have both of my Razr Maxx's in the Leather Holsters..

Tell me how its verizons fault you broke the screen on your phone? They did not make the device Samsung did. Its not their product, they only provide service to you. So what should they stand behind?

Direct your anger to where the blame lays, either you for carrying it in your pocket, or Samsung for a possible screen defect.

I cannot understand why people blame the cell carrier for breaking their own device. They handle manufacturer defects and not accidental damage, theft or loss if you have supplement insurance they provide the replacement not verizon.

I am new to the Samsung S4 and also had mine in a Defender Case. I had the phone for less than a week when my screen broke while in my pocket. The problem is these manufacturers and carriers are always trying to build the biggest and bestest without regard to durability. I have since done some research and the Apple 5 has tested much more durable than the Samsung S4.

My next phone will not be a Samsung S4 and my carrier will not be Verzion. We started with the predecessor of Verizon (Bell?) 25-years ago. They just burned us on two home lines they conned my wife into so I am done as soon as contracts are fulfilled or bought out.

The carriers don't make the phone. Again its Samsung or your own negligence for the breakage not Verizon Wireless.

If a cell manufacturer issue then go after Samsung. If it was caused by your case selection or how you carry it, or if it banged on something. It is not Verizons fault.

Have been with them when they were bell also. Not too bad a company but we as consumers have to be aware of what is offered and why, and then make our own informed decisions.

Wow you obviously did not read my post. I never said it was Verizon's fault. I said "My next phone will not be a Samsung S4 and my carrier will not be Verzion. We started with the predecessor of Verizon (Bell?) 25-years ago. They just burned us on two home lines they conned my wife into so I am done as soon as contracts are fulfilled or bought out."

All Otter Boxes come with a belt holster. Use it. Anyone who puts their cell phone, especially one as large as the Galaxy S4, nuff said.

Actually I read your post. Verizon home lines is Verizon if you have cell service its Verizon Wireless. Why would you drop Verizon Wireless because Samsung is your brand of device? Blame Samsung.

I can see why you would drop Verizon the phone company, in that I cannot disagree with you.

Buy a Magic Jack Plus I did years ago and for $20 a year (at 5 years fir $100 in advance) or $30 a year singly.

it is far better than paying high costs of Verizon the telephone company or any other service.

good luck
