Ask Samsung. They are the ones solely responsible for releasing the OS updates on their unlocked devices.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Apparently when you get it from Samsung it is not filled with Verizon bloatware.Like Ann154 said you need to get your updates from Samsung. If you got your phone from Verizon you have to wait to get updates after they test it and see how it will run with all their software.

I think you've got that essentially correct.
This also probably means, if it's an LG device and unlocked by the OEM, you'll get the updates embarrassingly sooner from the OEM than from VZW. Interestingly, with all the patches Samsung is doing to their devices, you'll probably get them very quickly regardless of them being unlocked or carrier locked devices. Maybe it's just my perception, but with SOOOO many model Samsung models, and SOOOO many updates, probably the team responsible for validating the OTA for these devices get these done first.
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Go to about phone and see what version you have. I believe the last update had the patch for Krack

If you go down to previous updates you will see where
