From yesterday to today, I have seen that the update of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 is available over the air and through the computer. I was wondering which do you guys recommend I should do? I heard that OTA is riskier cause its over the air and something can happen, but I'm not sure if that is true or not.

All VZW upgrades like this one (ITS huge).. are pushed to the phones OTA, are pretty well tweaked.. I don't even bother with the Verizon software. ..The PC based SW can be buggy and not for the novice/ beginner, IMO, It's meant to help a narrow segment of customers who (must) need to upgrade their phone software but it may not be coming through successfully over the air, and also to help customers repair a software update that came through but may not be working properly.like a unstable 3g/4g connection..or lack of a available SECURE.. WiFi ..(Not to do this OTA in Applebees' during happy hour , for instance!)
If you choose to to use your upgrade via a PC OR OTA.... Have a fully charged battery /plugged in wall charger, Do not disconnect the device from the computer , or turn off the device during the download process...!
If you must..PC > set up notes > http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=80195

This update is very large and optimizes 241 items is very slow through KIES and maybe even more slow OTA. I also heard it takes a reset to optimize some features like the wifi toggle which VZW removed in the beginning. You may want to make sure you do have your data backed up somewhere so you don't loose it. You also get apps to SD but I don't know if you can just move your present apps or they have to be updated apps by the developer before they can be moved to the SD. I am happy with the way my phone is working and I am going to wait on this and update it when I have to update it. So far it has not bothered me about it and I will just wait till it does. Good Luck with your update.
