The latest software update has made my new Galaxy s5 almost unusable. The battery that lasted all day yesterday now drains really quickly, it's always too hot to hold to my face, texts take up to a minute to send a single word, the email app can take 5 minutes to open then a single email takes up to or over a minute to open & if any app is open, even messaging, the colored widget thing that shows memory usage turns orange or even red. This is totally unacceptable. I haven't had the phone very long. Verizon needs to fix it or tell all of us stuffing after the update what to do to fix the problem or I'll be taking my service elsewhere after over 20 years. Please help. I have already turned it off, removed the SIM card & reset it then restarted. No difference.

Strange I am not experiencing any of that with the latest update, only had my phone a month. Have you checked to see what might be draining the battery? Mary

I'm here cause the update made my SD card slot unusable. But I had the same issue you are reporting with my S3 on its last update. A hard reset fixed it. resulted in increased bat life and other performance improvements. NO idea if a hard reset will help you, but it might. Cheers.
