Staying with 6.01 for now

I have been cruising Android sites to see how users are responding to the Nougat update, and as far as I can see, it's not positive on the whole. Sure, any new OS takes getting used to; the was a ton of griping when Win10 came out, but I'd never go back to Win7 now. This update is, however, a different case. Whether it's Samsung or Verizon or both, the version being rolled out to Verizon users seems to have created as much angst as pleasure.Look at threads on forums two months ago, and it was all "When the &^#@ is Verizon going to roll out Nougat?" Now all I seem to read here and other prominent forums (fora?) is "Nougat sucks!" Most of the complaints centered around loss of wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with complaints about the loss of this or that feature, etc. So, my GS7 Edge is cruising along nicely on Marshmallow, and I'm keeping there until it's absolutely obvious that upgrading is a positive move. This, I reckon, will be when 7.1x is available and any and all bugs are killed. I just hope that I am not forced to upgrade by Verizon or Samsung in the near future. THAT would suck.

This is the case with just about every new OS rollout, or version update... Nougat is no different.  My Pixel has 7.1.1, and is humming along just fine.  Of course, it had 7.0 when I got it, so there was no upgrade from Marshmallow, and that may be why it's been pretty painless.

I'm also holding off updating my S7E.

Marshmallow seems to be working fine for me at this point, and, I want to see how the Nougat situation pans out.

There was a bit of a learning curve for me when I updated my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 from 8.1 to 10, but, now I know where things are and have no trouble zipping around.

Smart move to put off the Nougat update, Jan152015.  I waited to update my S4 to Kit Kat for a year.  A VZW Tech Coach rep told me there is a fix coming for Nougat, but wasn't sure when.  I  delay the update every day.

Ummm, seems to me the situation has panned out. The majority of posts I see are not good, at least for Verizon's version. Odd, 'cause they were the last to come out with it; you'd think they would have monitored issues other providers were having on their flagship devices, and made sure these didn't plague their release.Alas, it appears not. Sigh...

I meant that I want to see if a patch to rectify the issues will be forthcoming, or, will nothing happen until the next update is released.
