SG S4: Persistent red screen with Verizon logo

SG S4: Have persistent solid red screen with Verizon logo. Can't get home screen. Tried reboots, battery pulls, repeated cache clear in recovery mode, factory data resets in recovery mode. Think it is unwanted start of KitKat upgrade that won't complete..What can I do?
