As the title states my s8+ has a red screen even when the red slider is turned all the way down. Am I able to exchange my device for a non defective one? If so do I have to wait until tomorrow?
This is pretty irritating considering I went through the note 7 debacle as well.

As long as you're still within the first 14 days of getting the device, you shouldn't have any trouble exchanging it.

But since the phone isn't technically out yet will I be able to exchange it today? Official release day is the 21st and I received mine on the 19th

I believe Samsung is aware of this problem

Yeah, I received my S8+ yesterday. It came early somehow at my work. Man, right when I cut it on and hit a white page the red tint was very noticeable. I went to the settings and cut the red all the way down and I still see it all around the edges of the phone. It appears better in the middle of the phone but the all around the border it has the red tint - kind of pinkish. Unbelievable. I'm wondering if exchanging it will even fix it. Won't they all be this way??

No, not all of them have that problem, but some research revealed that Samsung is apparently saying it's a software problem, not a hardware one, and they should be releasing a patch in a week or so to resolve the red tint issue. Don't have the link currently available, unfortunately.

Mine is slightly pink glow around all edges including the top. No setting fixes it. If the software update next week doesn't fix it, or doesn't come, I'll definitely be exchanging.
Anyone curious to see if they notice the same, pull down the notification bar and go into the settings (tap the gear icon). This brings up a full white screen with your settings. On this screen it is easy for me to notice all the pinkish / reddish frame around the entire screen.

Yep, everything you described is exactly the same thing I'm experiencing. My son got a plus as well and his isn't as bad but still has it for sure. Same here, if the software update does not fix it, I'm going to be exchanging as well. So disappointing and noticeable.

Shruikan,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I can certainly see how that could be very annoying. You do have a 14 day worry free guarantee with any device. Were you able to take the device in store to have it exchanged?
