Nothing official has been announced yet as to its release.  With the bug reports I've read elsewhere, it may be a while.

I just wish Android hadn't mentioned this OS until they were sure it was ready to go....

A long while.. Maybe   HTC for one pushed the Dates back Like on my M8 they updated the Dev. the unlocked and Google Play edition but holding off the others maybe for once these manufactures are listening..

Yea hopefully they'll get most or all of the issues ironed out before we see it sent to our devices..

Verizon is smart not to move to fast on Lollipop and it's bugs. I agree it may be a wait but better for all of us.
