just got my s3 back on 5/3/13 and love the phone, but I keep seeing all this talk of an update to VRBMD3 I am currently at VRBMB1 when I hit the check for updates link it says no updates available. Has Verizon removed the update due to the issues with it or what?

Good, cause you don't want it! It's not a good update. They did pull it after they found out all the trouble it was causing. You're not missing out on anything except losing data and bloatware "Callerid". Be greatful!

Rumor is that they have pulled the initial MD3 release and are working on an update to the update...

I heard July time frame from Samsung, then extensive testing by VZW. So that would be an August mid September time frame to release to OTA. VZW says they do extensive testing on these but what happened to this last OTA? It no more than got out the door and people start having issues with it. It does not sound to me like VZW does anything more than add the bloatware to it and then slingshot it out to us. VZW should have caught this issue and not released the update. Then to top that all off VZW acts like they don't have a clue what the issue was about. VZW acts like it is Samsung issue when it was their job to test this junk before they release it to their customer and mess up the customers phones and VZW can't fix the issues with the customer phones other than replacing the phones with refurbished phones and in some cases customers had phones that were only 3 or 4 weeks old practically a new phone. Someone at VZW is not doing their job and VZW need to do an internal investigation to find out who that may be and do some house cleaning. I really hope everyone gets their phones back to working the way it was before this failed OTA. This may make everyone a little gun shy on the next OTA.

That's good, and you are lucky. VZW probably pulled that update out because it has many issues, especially with 4G reception.
