Can't download photos from my S6 to a Mac

I cannot download photos from my S6 to my Mac, even though I've downloaded the required Android transfer software.  My Mac doesn't recognize my device.  I've been able to do it sometimes, but then I can't again.  I don't get the USB icon on my phone.

You've come to the right place for help mojoYL. I use my computer to keep my pictures safe as well so I completely understand how you feel. I'm confident we can get this working right.

Are you following these steps http://vz.to/29aOdvR to transfer the pictures to your Mac? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Android Transfer software from your Mac?
