20 20 hindsight If I had the Labor Day week off I wouldn't have let a phone wreck it.  I would have had them deliver it the following Monday. I can live without a phone for a week.

I've bought two phones from Verizion store and two from other places and the Verizion store makes the process a lot more complicated.  The other two were from Costco and Walmart.

I have yet to need the services of Verizion support for any of my phones but sooner or hopfully a lot later I probably will have to deal with all the negative aspects of returning/repairing a device. I know it's a pain and all carriers have a real regimented policy on returns/repairs and customer loyality does not play into any part of it.  Its do it thier way or you are hit with a big fine.  What else are you going to do, like it or not, if you want their service you have to follow all the rules.

you've had 4 phones in less than 30 days?

let me see if i can read your book, but i can tell you that is not normal for that device, you must be doing something

Post all the apps on your phone.. "freezing" isnt a real thing.

Thats what I said. 3 devices all having the same issue is an app issue, or conflict. They should place the device in Safe mode for two days and see what happens

If the phone is being messed up by an app then it's the phones fault not the app. Why do you clowns always assume that the user is at fault. We (or at least I) are just trying to use the phone as it was designed to be used.

It can very well be a rogue app or an app conflict. I am a customer no different than you so I take offense to the clown comment. Simply trying to help you fix your issue and apparently you are not willing to listen to ways to see if an app is the issue.

Good luck

My issue with my phone is detailed above  and concerns it's inability take a charge. ritchiey3 is the guy who is on his third phone and the statement that somehow he (or I) must have downloaded a rogue app lacks imagination especially when you consider that you have no idea about what apps he or I might have used.

BTW: My theory is this is just a poorly made phone that has been hyped beyond anything else. I can honestly say that I was less than impressed with this phone before it started having problems given that it is supposed to be Samsung's flagship "iPhone killer". From its slick and almost unholdable case to its tinny sounding and truly terrible ear buds, I'd say that insufficient thought went into the design inside and out.

"If the phone is being messed up by an app then it's the phones fault not the app"??? No, it CAN be the app. Some apps are better written than others. A poorly written app CAN mess up a phone. That is why some apps are rated at 1 star while others are rated at 5 stars. If someone installs a virus on their computer, is it also the computers fault it gets messed up and not the virus's fault? If you think it is the virus's fault, why can't it be an apps's fault.

First off thanks Norcalman for understanding the situation. Since this post I've just accepted the fact that Verizon will do nothing for customer satisfaction but repeat themselves like the robots that they are. So, i'm with a refurbished GS 4. I will say that once my two years are over I will never again in my life or let anyone I know sign a contract with Verizon for any type of service.

Just a few things to say after reading various comments/replies:

- I was well aware of the contract upon signing it, please do not make it seem like you are some type of "expert in contract reading" save it seriously. Just because you made that ignorant comment im sure you will one day run into a problem with a product and because you read that contract so well it will come back to bite you. My argument was based on the fact that the device was defective and regardless of the 14 day window I should have been sent a New GS 4, its as simple as that.

- Others who say I must have caused this situation I leave you with this. Upon receiving my first GS4 I created a NEW google account just because I did not want any of my old apps or information transferred to the new phone, I wanted to start fresh. I did not and still have not installed any apps at all zero - nada - zilch! The only information which was sent from one phone to the other was my contacts. I transferred these contacts through my SD card. Now you'll say that maybe there is some type of bug in that SD card. So to clear that part up for you, once I received my second GS4 I formatted my SD in advance before placing it into the phone and manually entered all my contacts into the new phone - also no application were downloaded into this phone. I spend about an hour and 1/2 with the tech line going through all the details of what could cause problems with the device and I checked out in all the areas. No problem was caused by me and Verizon themselves agreed that the phone itself was defected but has to stand behind the contract which I understood.

Those of you who stand behind Verizon like you are employed by them, the time will come when you run into a problem and they show no care to resolve the issue at hand. At this moment you will feel as I and Norcalman have. It is not a question of contracts or legal rights. I simple feel that its pure PRINCIPLE which has been sadly lost!

Sorry I ranted all over your thread here ritchie3 or that I couldn't provide any answers that could have helped you. I just wanted you and anyone else who will listen that Verizon's policies are unfair and indicative of a corporation that isn't the least bit interested in doing anything for us except to collecting our money with the least amount of effort on their part. All the apologists here ... look down on us as if we are spoiled children not getting our way. Let them start to have problems and then they can do all the blaming on apps that they want. If they are lucky then they might realize just how slanted the agreement between Verizon and it's customers truly is. I imagine it will be a particularly sour moment for them when they finally come to an understanding that the apps have nothing to do with there problem.

Rants? NONE AT ALL. I totally agree with all that your saying and I'm truly appreciative that you can relate to the situation. I can safely say I agree 100% with all your post. Im not necessity looking for answers, Ive gave up on that weeks ago finally realizing Verizon is not what the public paints them to be.
