Verizon employees giving me multiple answers re Note 9 BOGO deal

I have been a long time Verizon customer and we have 3 lines of service, all paid off. I spoke to a Verizon employee via chat online a few weeks ago about if we could get the BOGO deal and use the new phones on our current phone lines and was assured that yes, we could if used the upgrade from our tablet line and then added a NEW line for the phone promo, then moved our tablet to the NEW line, then moved the 2 new phones to our current phone numbers. We cannot just add a new line and lose one of our current phone numbers, as we have had these numbers for a long time and use them for business, etc. I'm sure you know what a pain it is to get a new number. We don't use the phone number tied to our tablet. AGAIN, I was told the SAME thing yesterday via chat when I asked about doing this and not losing our current phone numbers. The only reason I didn't go through with the transaction yesterday is because I forgot about having to pay the taxes up front and needed to wait until today....SO....I chatted in again today, different employee and he told me this cannot be done. We cannot get a BOGO Note 9 deal unless we add a new line and the Note 9 phone stays tied to that new line for 2 years. It is so frustrating to be told different things by different employees and also, that Verizon would not want to keep their long time customers....we pay them THOUSANDS of dollars a year. After today, if the other 2 employees were giving me incorrect information, then I could have gotten stuck paying for both phones, as so many in these forums have during BOGO deals. Now I have to figure out if there is a way I could port 1 of my numbers to Google Voice, cancel my Verizon plan, then port it back in as a "new line" OR decide if  I want to cancel my Verizon plans and port everything over to ATT, who is offering the SAME promo, BOGO Note 9 deal that Verizon is offering.....amazing that Verizon isn't more interested in keeping their current/long time clients. Does the Google Voice port out/in/new line thing work if you have done that? And VERIZON....if you are reading this....what are you willing to do to retain a customer? Honor what 2 of your employees have offered?

Sorry for any inconvenience and frustration that this matter may have caused you. Moving forward, we want to provide you with correct information regarding the Buy One, Get One Free offer. Please be advised that you may upgrade to one new device on an existing line. However, the second device must be added to a new line of service. Click the link below for more information regarding this deal. The details regarding the requirement to add a new line of service are provided below:

The terms and conditions are stated above by the Verizon representative. Based off the different experiences on this forum, there are many people that try to manipulate the system and get BOGO deals. They then end up paying more because they weren't actually eligible for the promotions.

As an existing customer, you are eligible for the promotion as long as you meet the requirements, like adding a new line of service. The promotion isn't geared towards new customer only, they aren't withholding it from you, it just sounds like you don't actually need a new line of service. This is how it works with every carrier, not just Verizon.

You could always wait and see what they may offer next on the Note 9. There may be a trade-in promotion coming, which is what I am personally waiting for.

Verizon isn't going to honor a deal that 2 employees that fail at providing accurate information told you. It's not possible to offer something that isn't there.

Do you know why BOGO deals are a pain? Fraud. Fraud is super common in the cell industry. This is why you're not going to simply be handed a phone worth hundreds for nothing.

You upgrade an existing line and add a new line of service for the get phone. That's it.

Add a new line for the Bogo, then you can cancel any line you want as long as it qualifies to cancel "nothing owing", but just  "don't" cancel either of the Note 9 lines for 24 months and pay them out over time "no payoffs".

Verizon cannot tell you want you can and can't do with free lines not on contract and paid off, but they do have a say in both of the Note 9 lines as they are both under contract.

Download phone call recorder App.google play store, its free. When you call Verizon with questions then its recored. This way when they give you different answers then you have record of all the lies they tell you .

They are liars. just saying. They do anything to make more money. I have been with Verizon since 1995  the customer service has went down the drain since about 2013.

I was surprised the 1st time I was lied to.Then after the 2nd time and the 3rd  I dont have trust.

I only stay with them right now until I figure out where I'm going to next.I used to get good service in my home .18 years here.Since the past few years ,dropped calls  my son gets dropped calls here too. No reason for it  nothing changed. Not on our part. I stopped calling about it. Forget it. Different lie every time. I hate it when they pretend to care and say "I'm sorry about this" lmao. They dont care .Just send the money . We will be leaving soon. And I dont care if they say I'm sorry  I rather hear fingernails scratch down a chalk board  because they are liars
