Yesterday I tried the unlock pattern on my Galaxy 9. The pattern would not work. I have accessed by google account (ADM). ADM no longer allows users to set a temp pin.
1. How can I back up my info into the cloud?
2. Can I reset the device without losing all of my data?
3. Is there a way to change it from the unlock pattern to the pin?

We want to make sure that you don't lose any of your personal information on that device. Did you back up your device at Verizon Cloud prior to having this unlock issue?

No, I didn't.
I thought it was automatically backing up to the cloud but apparently that was not happening. I also backed everything to my computer (or at least I thought I did when I got this current phone in 2018 but I can't find the transfer app and the phone icon on the computer doesn't list any data.)
Is the only solution to reset the entire phone?

sphonegalaxy, there are a lot of passwords to keep track of these days. I forget some every now and again. The phone will need to be factory reset to gain access. Here is a web page https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-216579/ with the steps.
It's possible the information was backed up to Google. Here are web pages contacts.google.com photos.google.com to check. Does this help?

You didn't read my message. I did not forget my unlock pattern. It worked on the phone on Saturday night and then on Sunday morning the unlock pattern did not work. The phone isn't even paid off and it is not working. I had the phone in a protective Otter case so it was not damaged in any way. This is clearly a software or/and screen problem. A phone should work unless until its paid off.

These details are helpful, sphonegalaxy. I can certainly understand your concern if your unlock pattern is not working as expected. For further assistance, please contact Samsung directly: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/contact/
