People can't hear me in call unless I put myself on speaker. Anyone else having this problem?

This problem had started up recently on my Samsung note 8. Whenever I receive a call, the other person I'm talking to is not able to hear me unless I'm on speaker. Is anyone else having this problem? I tried restarting my phone, it doesn't work. I have not used my bluetooth at all so that's out of the question. I checked blue tooth settings just in case and everything is turned off. I don't know what the problem could be. Barely had this phone for a month, so it's pretty new. When I receive calls, it's still the same issue. The person is not able to hear me unless I put my phone on speaker. Does anyone have a clue on what might be going on with my phone? I really want to avoid resetting my phone, but i will do it, if that's the solution to fixing this annoying problem.

There's two possibilities, which are:

1. Essentially an issue with something installed to device (3rd party app, corrupt file/setting etc.) that is preventing the main microphone from working.

OR

2. There is actually something wrong with this microphone/phone itself.

The reset would be your best bet to rule out the first possibility, but if this doesn't resolve the issue it is likely the second and there is a problem with the microphone or something related to its normal operation. If it does need to be replaced it would be covered by warranty and wouldn't cost anything (assuming there is no physical damage to the device).
