Yes!!! A coworker got this and they took his S8 that he bought in April back and gave him a $25 credit per month on his account. All because they said he qualified under the upgrade program. I don't because they put the date that I ended up with the S7 edge as a date in September.

Verizon can remedy this... they choose not to

I'm Not happy with how this entire thing has gone down.  First I paid for my Note 7.  Then was forced to surrender my Note 7 for another Note 7.  Oddly enough I was one of the people that has a Note 7 get very hot on them.  So they forced me to turn in my Note 7 and pay for a lesser phone (S7).

Now the new Note 8 has come out and I got HAMMERED!  My understanding was that I could trade in the replacement phone and get a new Note 8 as a replacement.  This has turned into a financial nightmare.

I would like Verizon to handle this in a better way.  I'm currently not a very happy customer.

What could make this better?  Can I trade in an older phone and pass this S7 onto someone else?

I still don't understand why Verizon is responsible for fixing an issue caused by Samsung and their product?

It is not Verizon's fault that the Note 7 had to be returned. This was a recall due to safety reasons by Samsung, you know, you actually MAKES the phones. Maybe try calling Samsung with your issues about the Note 7 and the Note 8. The note 7 was literally exploding due to the battery conflicting with the shape of the phone.

I'm not saying Verizon is to blame but we are their customers and they should be doing whatever to make us stay and be happy. I don't want a hand out I just need them to work with us. I was forced to get a phone a didn't want, now that the note 8 is out I would've loved for them to make getting back to the note easier. I need to come up with a $1000 to switch back to the note line I was forced out of.

So they say pay off the phone I now have ($495 ×2) and then they will buy it back from me for $480 a $15 difference. So why not just let us pay the difference and switch phones.... I don't know. Or upgrade me back to the note line and I will pay the $40 monthly, why I have to payoff the phone that I got forced into regardless of who is at fault. Work with us don't just be all for yourselves Verizon.

Verizon is only obligated to provide your service to your device.

Samsung made the defective device that needed to be recalled. Did you contact Samsung with your current payoff amount to see if they can reimburse you so that you can pay the current phone off and get the phone you want? You weren't forced out the Note 7 by Verizon. You were forced out of it by Samsung because THEY recalled it. You really should be contact Samsung. You bought the Note 7 from Samsung NOT Verizon. You buy the service to the device from Verizon.

I don't think no one hands are tied they are just [Removed] over both ways. Dint tell me Verizon is only obligated to provide service because my phone came out their store. All I'm trying to say is there should be a more amicable solution available. They (Verizon and Samsung)come up with deals all the time to get us to buy their products so why can't they work something out for note 7 owners. We were all diligently waiting for the 8 because we still want to give it another try. I always call Verizon when I have problems with my phone so why you gonna try distant themselves now. When I spoke with the rep about getting the note 8 she said they went to training for this. I guess they were trained how to tell us NO. I know this is all about the bottom line no matter which way you slice it. To end and this is going to be my final post on this all it comes down to is note 7 owners if not for anything else buy their loyalty should get a chance to upgrade without all the  [Removed], you owe us Verizon and Samsung.

No they do not owe you any more discounted phones than you are eligible for and have already received than any other VZW customer just because you got a phone that was recalled and then CHOSE to get a different phone as an upgrade rather than just returning the Note 7 and having your upgrade eligiblity reset until the Note 8 was launched.....

Ok,  we had to turn in our note 7s. I need a cell phone for work and personal use.  I turned in my note 3 when I received the first note 7, so no back up phone.

Waiting for upgrade eligibility reset?   How long is that last?  We've waited almost a year for the Note 8, in the mean time you expect us to go without a cell phone.  Not very practical or reasonable.
