How did you "uninstall the Verizon Protection update? And how did you uninstall the Verizon Store Demo Mode? Only instructions I find online talk about involving a Factory Reset. Did you have to do that?
I see no Verizon Protection updates or a Verizon Store Demo Mode anywhere on my phone.
Thanks

Go to your application manager under settings and find Support & Protection. Open it and press DISABLE, then ENABLE, this will reset app to factory settings. If it's greyed out, you'll have to turn off recovery first in the VZ Protect app settings (mine is located inside my Verizon app folder). You can then update the app to the current version in the Google Play Store, then open the app & update the virus definitions, check that your settings are how you like them, and finally, run a scan. Worked perfectly for me.

Thanks for the instructions. It all worked exactly as yo described, AND I've discovered a lot of other features about my phone that I never bothered to check out when it was brand new. You know, all the excitement over the un-boxing and stuff.
Thanks a million!

Thanks, for the instructions. I have an S6 and seems to have also fixed the problem. Remember to go back and turn on the recovery mode, however, if you disabled it during the process!

Settings, Applications, Application manager, Support and protection...disable/enable. Rang87, I simplified it for simple- minded people; like me! Thanks

I have the same problem and it happened when I was accessing my Verizon account. I had a message saying they could not verify my account info, please try later. But I tried again twice in a few seconds and gave up. When I came back, I got into the account (just minutes later) but the Verizon Store demo mode threat appeared too, that so far cannot be removed, even by my local Verizon store manager. It happened on 8-11-16, and today is 8-18-16. The manager talked with Verizon Tech support and said they would push thru a fix, but so far I still have the threat. I also tried the setting change with the in store experience (it was already set to "reject" anyway), but this did not help. Still waiting for a solution.

When I followed these instructions and tried to update the protect app in the store, it will not update and says I already have the latest version.
