I just got a security threat saying my phone has a Verizon store demo mode app that is a threat risk. How do I get rid of it and where did it come from? I bought my phone new from Best Buy this year. This is the first time this has popped up on my phone.

Mine was doing the same thing! I uninnstalled the Verizon Protection update and the "Verizon store demo mode" threat is no longer showing up. I then updated it again and so far it still isn't showing up that I have a threat. It's worth a shot for you guys. Did any of you find out why this is showing up as a threat in the first place? I couldn't even find a demo mode under my settings or installed apps or anything.

I chatted with verizon tech support this morning and they said they don;t have a fix for this. The only thing they suggested is a factory reset. I did that and the darn threat is still on the phone.

Galaxy S6 here. Same as everyone else. Maybe unrelated, I'm seeing more battery use and frequent network disconnection. Bought new from Verizon last year.

I have the Galaxy S6 Edge also. I am having the same issue and it just started yesterday. At one point the phone was really warm and the battery dropped down to 37% in less than an hour. Then I noticed the security alert "Verizon Store Demo Mode" - Medium Risk.
I tried letting the security software remove it, to no avail. Today the threat is still appearing, but the phone is normal temperature and is holding a normal charge.
I'm suspicious of this thing. PLEASE HELP.

This fix worked for me too, thanks! I had the same problem with an s6 that just appeared this morning. Stopped in the Verizon store, and their best solution was a factory reset or swap out the phone. I never thought of re-installing the protection app. Saved me a ton of work. Great idea.
