Additionally, that provision does not provide detail for people like me that Edged up.  I used my device upgrade allowance to Pre-Order the Note 7.   I am under a contract, and until it is formally communicated that my Edge up will be honered on a return to stock, then it isn't helpful.

The "Fact" is you haven't provided guidance that points me to where it formally tells me as a Note 7 owner, that I am expected to return the unit prior to anything else... Your adding context that Verizon hasn't stated.

And your statement that Verizon is prompting you to hold onto your device is adding context that Verizon hasn't stated. What Verizon HAS stated is the restock fee would be waived until September 30. I am not adding THAT context. I am also not adding the context that replacement devices may or may not be available prior to that deadline.

We simply have different interpretations of Verizon's offer to return the device without a restock fee prior to September 30. Whether or not that is "prompting" you to return the device is a matter of opinion. What ISN'T a matter of opinion is that Verizon will not charge you a restock fee prior to that date. Whether or not they will charge a restock fee after that date isn't as clear cut. I am on record saying Verizon would "likely" extend that deadline should there not be suitable replacement Note7's prior to the deadline, but as you have stated, that is ONLY context I have added, not what Verizon has "stated".

Your still stating opinion.

Provide a formal request from Verizon that instructed me to return the device now.

By the way, I have called, and I have visited the Verizon store twice... In each instance I was told if I didn't need an immediate replacement to hold on to my device.

So until you can provide clear, simple English, offical instructions, there is only our opposing interpretations.

We are at an impasse, I don't trust your opinion and you don't trust mine.  It's that simple.

I'm sorry, but my Note 7 working perfectly. I charge it using Samsung Wireless Pad and my phone never even been warm. Why should I change it to something that I can originally purchase months ago(i.e. 7 Edge)? The only question I have to Verizon is if I keep my Note 7 after October 1st (replacement phone is not available) will I be paying restocking fee? It should be the case since it is not my fault that they can't provide replacement.

Your device is working perfectly, until it isn't. The risk of damage appears to be small, but why risk it at all? I guarantee you everyone who has had an issue with the phone catching fire had their device "working perfectly" too.

I ask Jason_Nipp - Has your request for a link to Verizon's Public announcement regards "Return", "Exchange" been answered by more than one respondent in this thread?

Provide a formal request from Verizon that instructed me to return the device now.

Verizon is a provider of wireless service, not the manufacturer of the device. Verizon also happens to be a retailer to help put devices that can be used for the service they provide, in the hands of customers. It is not their job to instruct you to return the device. Demanding such a thing from a provider of a service, is laughable and could be compared to an ISP telling you to return your desktop computer or laptop.

But if you want an official statement, perhaps one from the CPSC is enough?

Press Statement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note7 ...

I have not asked about exchange in this thread, I have asked where I am being told in an official capacity, that I am being told I need to return my device if I do not need a loaner device due to having a back up to use.   Two people have responded several times, and could not provide such official request.

At this time, Verizon's website provides a return to stock or exchange path for those that can not wait for an official replacement.

So no, my question has not been answered.

See my last post.

that I am being told I need to return my device if I do not need a loaner device due to having a back up to use

If you don't need a loaner device and have a back up one to use, I can only take that as to mean you are not using the Note 7. In that case if your Note 7 is not being used and is powered off, then it's not posing a danger or serving its purpose. It is being recalled, replacements are coming, but why hold on to it if it's not serving its purpose?

Samsung has instructed matter through official channels that Verizon will be handling fulfillment of replacements.

Verizon.has told me to hold steady...

The CPSC has not reached out to me through official channels.

Samsung has, and Verizon has... And I don't want a temporary S7... I have a backup device that I am using until I am instructed it is time for my device replacement.

So Verizon website does mention "Return" and "Exchange" in their statement.

Good of you clear that for me. I thought for a moment I had misread that.
