In kitkat you could hold power button and it would bring up a menu to mute phone even if it was locked. This is gone in lollipop. Anyway to get that back?

No. The function changed to be a part of the volume keys. This was a Google change for the base Android OS.

Its fun / bummer to be use to something then have it change then you when you finally get use to this solution it'll get change again.!
